LED Screen First Power-On and Commissioning Checklist

Before power-on

• Earthing and electrical safety checklist completed
• Power supply output voltage checked against the module datasheet before connecting modules
• Polarity of every DC power cable to the modules checked
• Data cable direction checked: data flows in the planned order from cabinet to cabinet
• All modules seated correctly with no bent pins on the connectors

Power-on in stages

• Power on one section or cabinet first, then the rest
• Smell, smoke, sound and heat checked on power supplies and modules
• DC voltage at the far end of the module chain measured under load
• Supply current measured with a full-white test pattern

Control system setup

• Sending card or processor firmware and software versions noted
• Receiving card configuration file loaded for the exact module model
• Cabinet connection map set in the software and checked against the real layout
• Brightness, refresh rate and gamma set to suit the site
• Configuration file saved to the receiving cards and a backup copy kept

Test patterns

• Full red, green, blue, white and black shown: no dead modules, lines or colour blocks
• Grey levels and gradient shown: no visible steps or flicker
• Moving test pattern shown: no tearing or misaligned cabinets
• Screen checked through a phone camera for scan lines, if it will be filmed
• Seams between cabinets checked for gaps or bright lines

Handover

• Customer shown how to switch on, switch off and change content
• Software, passwords and backup configuration handed over
• Spare parts list and warranty details given
• Maintenance schedule explained
